YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME– Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions govern the driving instruction services provided by YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME. They form a binding agreement between the student (or the party funding the lessons) and YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME. Any updates to these conditions will be communicated at least 7 days before taking effect. By booking or accepting a lesson with YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME, you agree to the following:
- Professional Standards
1.1 YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME adheres to a recognized professional code of practice, which is available for review on the appropriate regulatory website (e.g. the UK’s official code of practice).
1.2 YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME commits to the following:
- Providing a vehicle that is legally roadworthy, fully insured, taxed, and—if required—a valid MOT certificate is in place.
- Ensuring that the vehicle is kept clean, orderly, and equipped with dual controls.
- Maintaining courteous and professional conduct at all times, avoiding any inappropriate language or behavior.
- Refraining from making or accepting calls or texts during lessons unless an emergency occurs and the vehicle is safely parked.
- Licensing Requirements
2.1 Students must possess a valid and current driving licence authorizing them to drive in the UK.
2.2 Students must meet all legal medical and vision standards, including the ability to read a number plate from the prescribed distance (using glasses or contact lenses if normally needed). If corrective lenses are required, they must be worn throughout the lesson.
2.3 Your driving licence should be presented at the first lesson and may be reviewed periodically. Any penalties, restrictions, or endorsements on your licence must be disclosed immediately.
- Student Fitness
3.1 It is the student’s responsibility to ensure they are physically and mentally fit to drive. Please notify YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME as soon as possible if you have any medical condition, disability, or injury that might affect your ability to drive safely.
3.2 Students must not drive if under the influence of alcohol (including effects persisting into the following day) or drugs (including certain medications that may induce drowsiness). Avoid scheduling lessons when fatigued, stressed, or distracted.
3.3 Appropriate footwear and comfortable clothing that allows free movement are required for safe driving.
- Expected Conduct
4.1 Abusive or aggressive language or behavior directed toward YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME or any other road user will not be tolerated.
4.2 YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAMEreserves the right to end a lesson immediately if, in its sole judgment, the student’s behavior or condition (including being under the influence of substances) renders it unsafe or inappropriate to continue. In such cases, the fee for that session will not be refunded.
- Payment and Fees
5.1 Lesson fees will be communicated before or at your first lesson. Any changes to the fee structure will be announced in advance.
5.2 Special offers or discounts are provided at the sole discretion of YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME and may be modified or withdrawn without prior notice.
5.3 Payment for lessons is due in full either in advance or at the start of the session.
5.4 Payment methods accepted include cash, debit card, bank transfer, Pingit, or Paym.
5.5 When you pay directly to YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME, you acknowledge that the contract for providing lessons is with YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME, which assumes full responsibility for the service.
5.6 Please note that credit facilities are not offered—lessons will only proceed once payment is received.
- Instructor Consistency
Since YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME is exclusively provided under this business name, your lessons will consistently be delivered by YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME. In the unlikely event that a lesson cannot be conducted due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be promptly informed and an alternative schedule will be arranged. No substitution by another instructor is available.
- Vehicle Changes
7.1 Occasionally, a change in the vehicle may be necessary—whether due to routine maintenance or unforeseen issues.
7.2 If a replacement vehicle is provided and you opt not to proceed with the lesson, any associated fees (such as test fees) remain your responsibility.
7.3 Should you request to continue lessons in the familiar vehicle you’ve been training in, YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAMEwill do its best to accommodate that request within reason.
- Instructor-Initiated Cancellations
8.1 Lessons might need to be canceled at short notice due to adverse weather, vehicle issues, illness, or other emergencies. YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME will make every effort to notify you as soon as possible.
8.2 In such cases, the lesson will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time.
- Student-Initiated Cancellations
9.1 If you need to cancel a lesson, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice. Lessons canceled without this notice will be charged in full, even if the session is shortened.
9.2 Cancellations must be confirmed via text or direct communication with YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME.
9.3 Repeated cancellations without proper notice may result in:
- A requirement for longer notice periods,
- Advance payment for future lessons,
- Or, potentially, termination of the driving instruction service.
9.4 If you are deemed unfit to drive (for example, due to substance use), the lesson may be canceled, with the session fee retained.
- Scheduling and Punctuality
10.1 It is your responsibility to keep track of lesson times to avoid missed appointments.
10.2 YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME will wait for 10 minutes past the scheduled start time before considering a lesson canceled due to late arrival.
10.3 While punctuality is a priority, occasional delays due to traffic or unforeseen circumstances may occur; please allow for a 10-minute grace period.
10.4 If YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME arrives late, the fee for the lost time may be adjusted, or additional time may be arranged for a subsequent lesson.
10.5 Any changes to agreed pick-up or drop-off locations require 24 hours’ notice. Such adjustments may affect the lesson’s start or end times.
- Arranging Driving Tests
11.1 Driving tests should only be booked after discussing your readiness with YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAMEand confirming availability.
11.2 YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME cannot be held accountable for tests scheduled when unavailable.
11.3 In the rare case YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME is unavailable for your test, every effort will be made to secure an alternative arrangement; if you agree, you must accept the alternative vehicle provided.
11.4 Use of the vehicle for test purposes is charged at the standard lesson rate.
11.5 You are responsible for providing accurate details regarding your test’s date, time, and location. YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME cannot be held liable for errors in the information provided.
11.6 The vehicle will only be used for your test if YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME determines that you are at a sufficient standard. If not, additional lessons may be recommended, and the use of the vehicle may be declined.
- Test Cancellations
12.1 If a test is canceled due to issues attributable to YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME (such as vehicle breakdown or illness), a credit toward the next test fee will be provided.
12.2 YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME is not responsible for any extra lesson fees incurred while awaiting a rescheduled test.
12.3 Every effort will be made to help arrange another test date; if you agree, you must accept any alternative vehicle provided.
12.4 Should the DVSA cancel your test for reasons outside adverse weather—and you have complied with the cancellation notice requirements—the full fees for lessons and test use remain payable.
12.5 If the DVSA cancels the test on short notice, you may be able to claim a proportion of fees back directly from them.
12.6 When the DVSA cancels a test for reasons other than weather, a new test date will be arranged at no extra cost.
12.7 In cases of adverse weather, while the test is rescheduled at no additional cost by the DVSA, full fees for lessons and test vehicle use remain payable if the cancellation notice period is not met.
12.8 If the test is canceled due to errors in your documentation, illness, or other factors within your control, the test fees and lesson charges will still apply.
- Refund Policy
13.1 If you pay in advance for lessons, you are eligible for a refund for any unused sessions, provided you cancel with the required notice.
13.2 If a discount was applied for prepayment, lessons already taken will be charged at the standard rate, and any refund will exclude sessions canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice.
- Supervision and Observation
14.1 Occasionally, for quality assurance purposes, a trainer or examiner may observe a lesson. Consent will be sought before any supervised session begins.
14.2 During your driving test, a supervising examiner may be present as required by law.
14.3 You will be asked in advance if you wish for YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME to accompany you during your test. This is entirely optional.
14.4 With prior agreement, you may have a friend or family member present during a lesson for support or observational purposes.
- Using Your Own Vehicle
15.1 While lessons are generally conducted in the vehicle provided by YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME, lessons may occasionally take place in your own car if requested:
- This is subject to YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME’s agreement and may require an initial assessment in the dual-controlled vehicle.
- Your car must be legally compliant (roadworthy, taxed, insured, and MOT-certified when necessary).
- Written confirmation from your insurer that your vehicle is covered for professional instruction must be provided.
15.2 If you choose to use your own vehicle, you do so at your own risk, and YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME accepts no liability for any damage, accidents, or traffic infringements incurred.
- Personal Belongings
16.1 You are responsible for any items you bring to a lesson. Please ensure that nothing is left behind.
16.2 YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME is not liable for any loss or damage to your personal property during a lesson.
- Legal Responsibilities
17.1 You remain legally responsible for any traffic violations committed while in control of the vehicle.
17.2 Although YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME will provide comprehensive training, it cannot be held accountable for any driving errors made when you are driving independently (whether before or after a test).
- Handling Complaints
18.1 If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the lessons or the service provided, please raise your concerns with YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME as soon as possible, preferably in writing (via email) and no later than seven days from the incident.
18.2 Every reasonable effort will be made to resolve any issues. If you remain unsatisfied, you may consider contacting the DVSA or the appropriate regulatory body.
- Privacy and Data Protection
19.1 YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME takes the security of your personal data very seriously. Information is stored securely and used solely for providing driving instruction services.
19.2 Your details will not be shared with any third parties without your explicit consent, except where required by law.
19.3 You may receive occasional communications regarding updates or offers from YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME, but you may opt out at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions or by contacting YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME directly.

20.1 YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME reserves the right to capture photographs or images during lessons which may be used for promotional use on its website, Facebook, and other social media platforms. All images will have faces obscured to protect your identity.
20.2 If you do not wish for your images to be used for promotional purposes, please notify YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME in writing prior to your lesson. Once notified, YOUR DRIVING SCHOOL NAME will ensure that no images of you are used in this manner.
